Questions?

Gimbal Workshop FAQ

No. AFS has gimbals available for the workshop. But if you own one, bring it — you'll learn to balance YOUR specific setup, which is the most valuable thing you can take home.
DJI RS series and Zhiyun gimbals — the two brands you'll encounter most in the real world. The balancing principles are the same across all 3-axis gimbals, so the skills transfer to any brand.
Almost certainly. Most shaky gimbal footage comes from improper balancing or incorrect walking technique. We address both in detail. You'll learn the 'ninja walk' and other techniques that eliminate micro-jitters.
Primarily, yes. Gimbals are a video tool. But if you're a photographer looking to get into video, this is a great way to add cinematic movement to your skill set.
Push-ins, pull-outs, reveals, orbits, tracking shots, parallax movements, crane-style shots, and more. We cover the movements that actually get used in professional work — not just flashy tricks.
This workshop is designed for camera gimbals (DJI RS, Zhiyun Crane, etc.). Phone gimbals use different balancing and the movements are more limited. If you're interested in phone gimbal work, contact us about private lessons.
